I just bought a used GBA (the original non backlit one) but the thing didn't come with an AC adapter. I'm not really looking forward to burning AA batteries if I don't have to, but they dont seem to sell the GBA accessories in B&M stores anymore.

Anyone know if I can use a DS AC adapter? If not, is there any difference between the one for the old GBA and the one for the SP?

Thanks in advance. (OW that one hurt ME:))

I don't know about GBA vs DS or GBA vs GBA SP, but I can tell you that the DS Lite and DS have different power cords, and the DS and GBA SP have the same power cord. So I would say that you should at least make sure you do NOT buy a DS Lite power cord. I have a feeling that GBA == GBA SP == DS.

No AC adapter at all? I'd say get some NiMh cells then. If you play it often enough to burn through a set of batteries in a month, I'd get regular Sanyo batteries (2700 was the highest they made last I checked). If you play it infrequently and it'd take more than a month to go through a set of batteries, I'd get Eneloop or Rayovac Hybrid batteries. You sacrifice some capacity, but they won't drain within a month of non-use - so your GBA won't be dead when you want to play it.

GBA original didn't have any AC Adapter, it just used batteries, you could buy third party adapters and charge kits but like I said, third party. It doesn't even have a power input, my ac adapter (from Nyko I believe) connected as a battery pack (like the one in the picture) so yeah, the DS adapter won't work with the original GBA.

Thanks for your help guys.
Actually I found that Nintendo did make an adapter for it, but it was sold only in Japan apparently.
I broke down and bought a NiMh battery kit so im good to go.
