GAY! tell me which cellphone carrier charge for "receive" text messages!

DaWhim

Lifer
my friend is telling to stop sending him text message from AIM to his verizon cell phone. he said they charge 2 cents to receive 1 text message.

att is free to receive any text messages from anywhere

t-mobile I don't explicitely pay per message but it enters into my overall message and/or data quotient for the month and if I exceed it then I pay.

wtf?

You yanks 🙂P) pay to receive text messages?

We don't in the UK but we have pricey phone calls and crappy monthly deals 🙁

T-mobile gives you so many messages with different add-ons. In my case, I get 300 free messages total with the $9.99/month unlimited gprs internet data plan.

I pay 2 cents to receive a text message with verizon.

If you do more then a few text messages a month, you can get something like 100 for $2.99 or 300 for $4.99.

seems my friend is right

Can I sign up for both TXT Messaging and Mobile Web?

Yes, but only on the Mobile Web $6.95 monthly rate plan and you receive 100 messages ($.02 to receive/$.10 to send overage). Mobile Web currently offers all of the benefits of TXT Messaging as part of its bundled package, but requires a web-enabled handset.

this is so gayyyyyyyyyyy

Tracfone (prepaid wireless) effectively charges you for sending and receiving text messages. Each time you read a message or send one, it deducts one "unit" from your balance.

i have verizon and i dont pay for a monthly text service but it still workls for me.

$.10 to send and $.02 to recieve

yep, he's got the prices right. I have some free 100 or 300 message plan on my phone but don't even care - I would rather burn up minutes talking. I guess it might be fun if you were in high school or somewhere where you couldn't talk to each other much.

I don't get it. there will be NO motivation to use the text messaging service, if they charge for that. I am glad that AT&T is my carrier
AT&T 2-Way Text Messaging allows you to receive unlimited text messages on your phone each month at no charge. For send, forward, and reply charges, refer to the table below. To utilize this service, your wireless phone must be capable of sending text messages.

I just setup the alerts from aol. breaking news and weather report will send to me via text messages. 😎:wine:

I have Verizon Wireless too

10 cents outgoing, 2 cents incoming text message.

I guess they're not competitive in this field, but Verizon have the best coverage by far. I haven't really had any problem with reception except in concrete buidings and really rural area along interstate 5.

Yes, verizon is 2 cents to receive, 10 to send.

T-Mobile comes with 50 incoming, all others are 5 cents.

Whats the problem? Stop sending Im's to his phone.

so you're one of those *611 guy

Verizon sure have a very long customer service script.

"
Thank you Verizon Wireless, this is so and so how may I help you?"

You tell them what you need help with and before they ask for your name and phone #, they have another long script. Something like "as a part of guaranteed service blah blah, your problem becomes our problem, blah blah blah"

That's because on average we spend allot more on text's than those in the US. There are pay to receive text services in the UK, but you have to sign up for them, ie newsflashes, competition notices, football news, dating services etc. Never reply to those junk text's either, by doing so you automatically 'agree' to them sending you further messages, at your cost, up to £5 in some cases!

I use the text messages all the time, and it only ever ends up being like an extra 1 or 2 dollars a month. I guess I send less than I think I do. I think they're cool, though. I can send stuff to friends while I'm stuck in a meeting! 🙂

yeah, i have sprint pcs and they have "vision" crap, so they dont charge by the message but by the KB, think its like 2cent/KB, i never worry about it, i use them all the time and it never gets over 5$ a month.

i use them all the time, have to pay for unlimited through tmobile.

at&t is free to receive but .10 to send.
you can send through the websites for free
