Anyway, this IS an interesting development. And once a gay couple gets married in MASS, all the other states will HAVE to recognize it as a legal marriage despite their own laws regarding marriage.....

HaHa.....that is going to piss Mississippi and Alabama off something fierce.

Does it make little JustinT feel better when he talks bad about other states? He's such a big boy; preaching tolerance out of one side of his mouth and talking sh!t out of the other.

look at all the controversy and ill will this is stirring up. there are 3 major religions with rather large foot prints in this country, and all of them say homosexuality is wrong. so now youve got a LOT of angry people because immorality is being allowed to run rampant and the government actually endorses it.

and what do we know about large groups of angry religious people? more often than not, they get a little violent.

Say what you want about gay marriages, but...

Gay couple adoptions are frightening and wrong imo.

Oh too bad some people get their panties in a bunch. Lifes tough, wear a cup.

Fvck the large groups of angry religious people. Im sick and tired of putting up with their hatred, intolerance, and hypocrisy. If you want to believe in a magic little man who lives in the sky go right ahead, just don't take away someone else's rights because of what you think a book written nearly 2000 years says.

Remeber, people were angry when those damn black people wanted equal rights. People got pissed off at those women who actually thought they deserved to vote. And those angry religious people better damn well remember how angry people got when a carpenters son went around claiming he was in actuality the son of god.

For it to be such a huge, rifting concern you people must walk around all day thinking about gay this and gay that. Are the gay's trying to take Charelton Heston's winchester out of his cold dead hands? Perhaps they killed Dale Earnhardt? I know, manufacturing lost their jobs to a bunch of overqualified gay Indians. Big f#ckin deal, get over it.

If a Boston Gay Couple that was married there travel to Georgia they are considered divorced and never have married when they cross the State border. Gay marriages are illegal in Georgia and the State does not recognize other States either. They call it the Georgia Defensive Marriage Law, it states that Marriage is only between a Man and a Woman. The Law was passed in 1996 and they plan on ammending the Georgia State Constitution this January to get it in the Constitution permanently.

So you are comparing them to the Taliban and the Wahabi's? Seems valid.

According to a proposed U.S. Constitutional Ammendment, Gays are inferior people:

11-19-2003 Gays to be considered inferior by U.S. Law

Advocates of gay marriage hailed the ruling Tuesday as a landmark advancement of their cause. But the case also has galvanized opponents who want to protect heterosexual marriage by perpetuating discrimination against gays.

The opponents are promoting an amendment to the U.S. Constitution that would overturn any state law that treats gay and married couples equally. For the first time since the end of slavery, it would insert language in the Constitution defining one group of Americans as legally inferior to others.

Do you have a link to the text of the proposed ammendment?

Gay marriage ruling has '04 Democrats walking fine line

<snips>
"Although I am opposed to gay marriage, I have also long believed that states have the right to adopt for themselves laws that allow same-sex unions," said Sen. Joe Lieberman
...
"While I continue to oppose gay marriage, I believe today's decision calls on the Massachusetts state legislature to take action to ensure equal protection for gay couples," said Sen. John Kerry
...
"I do not support gay marriage, but I hope the Massachusetts state legislature will act in a manner that is consistent with today's Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court ruling," said Rep. Dick Gephardt
...
Indeed, of the nine candidates running for the Democratic nomination, six say they do not support gay marriage -- Lieberman, Kerry, Gephardt, retired Gen. Wesley Clark of Arkansas, Sen. John Edwards of North Carolina and the front-runner, former Gov. Howard Dean of Vermont.
...
Only three are on record supporting full marriage rights for same-sex couples -- Rep. Dennis Kucinich of Ohio, civil rights activist the Rev. Al Sharpton of New York and former Sen. Carole Moseley Braun of Illinois.

"One way or another, the state should afford same-sex couples equal treatment under law in areas such as health insurance, hospital visitation and inheritance rights," Dean said in his response.

Dean signed the nation's only civil unions law when he was Vermont's governor.

---------------------------------------
Sounds like Dean has the most Politically correct answer and stance. That Government has no business in Bedroom matters and also does not have the right to discriminate as far as Financial matters, Health, Insurance, Hosptial Visitation etc.

I hate these moral choices. I was gonna vote against Bush for starting an illegal preemptive war and ruining the United States and for stealing the Presidency, but I got to vote for him now cause he's against the queers. You got to keep your priorities straight in this life if you want to think clear like and all.

edit:

The only reason it's "politically correct" is because he dodged the question of the Court decision. Does he support or oppose "gay marriage"?

It doesn't matter, Government and Politicians have no business behind private closed doors.

The correct answer is: Neither. Who wants the government making moral choices about who we partner up with?

So what, your Religious beliefs should have no bearing on those who reject it for the nonsense that they believe it is. No one is ordering Churches and Religious Institutions to perform Gay Marriages if it is against the beliefs of that Religion. Why do Religious Zealots have to interfere in the lives of those who don't practice their religion?

The Forum database must've gotten corrupt, the above post actually looks like we agreed on something.
