So yesterday I was at the YMCA in the middle of a workout when I got the urge to go to the "office" and "do some business." The Y's "office" has two stalls; naturally I first picked the one that is in the corner and is the most private. No luck, the door was locked and someone was completing a transaction of their own. So I go to the other adjoining stall. As I enter and close the door behind me, the guy in the other stall stood up and (being a very tall guy) looked over the wall at me. I glanced up just in time to see all this, and he quickly looked away, obviously embarassed. He immediately flushed and left, and I went about my business as usual.
My question is, why would any straight man check out a guy in another stall??? I've talked to this guy in the gym before all this, and up to that point I would never have guessed that he was in any way gay. I'm still pretty sure he's not, but now there is a shadow of a doubt. Even if he is gay, I don't think I have given off any "gay" signals. Actually, I talk about my wife a lot, dress in crappy (non-spiffy) workout clothes, and talk about "guy" things a lot, so I can't imagine anyone ever mistaking me as gay.
I've talked to the guy since the "incident", and it didn't really seem awkward or anything, so maybe I'm making too much of it all.
