We have to do debate in my English class and since today (the day we pick teams) was the day I get my braces on I got shafted because it was via drawing. So my friend went to go write my name on one team when my other friend is all, "No, pick the one he doesn't want!" or something (I wasn't in class so this is all second-hand told by another classmate) so I got signed up to be PRO Gay Adoption. Something I'm completely against.

My friends are douches.

Anyway, I need to start thinking about some topics (homework) on why Gay Adoption is a good thing. Ideas please.

If you are AGAINST Gay Adoption, I probably agree with you full-heartedly so I don't need any topics against Gay Adoption.

It's a good thing b/c whether anyone's gay or not it's his personal business entirely and *shouldn't* affect other areas of life.

Someones sexual preference shouldn't enter into the equation of if they can adopt or not.

Any kinds of reasons.

I'm kind of screwed because mother nature is against gays.

Put that gay people are more like women so they would be able to care for the child and produce milk if necessary :p

I'm against gay adoption not because I actually care about the sexual orientation of the people raising the kid, but because I think children are raised better with both male and female role models. One or the other is inadequate. Note that I'm also against adoption by single people.

true, but there's not a shortage of heterosexual couples looking for children.

edit: sorry, that doesn't really help you does it?

Correction - looking for babies. There are a lot of older children (ages 3 and up) looking for loving homes.

i believe that a child has a better shot at making something of themselves if they have 2 full time parents who care for them and nuture them no matter WHAT their race/religion/sexuality/etc...

if i had my choice, i'm pretty sure i would rather be raised by a pair of lesbians or male homosexuals than be shuffled around to foster homes for the rest of my life

Well, if it were me, I'd check the Constitutionality of gay adoption. In Canada, you cant legally deny adoption to a gay individual, because our Charter of Rights protect the person the right not to answer any questions about sexual preference. I'm not sure what?s in your Bill or rights, so you might want to check that.

I just finished a paper on Gay marriages yesterday, and the topic came up. :)

I'm for it and I don't think there should a controversy about it based on sexual preference.

There should be more adoptions in the world and I am for people who are giving and willing to love another person with sincerity.
