I am not 100% sure but I gave up coffee and for the last three weeks no matter what I eat including chocolate I have not had any acne breakouts. I am amazed. Previously eating chocolate and I would wake up with a breakout every time. However I drank coffee everyday and my acne would come and go even when I cut a ton of sugar out of my diet but still I always drank coffee and have been drinking it black for a few years now. However I have been drinking about half a gallon of cranberry juice everyday since I quite drinking coffee. I love the stuff.

So, the combination of no coffee and drinking craneberry juice has finally curred me or it is one or the other. I have not been witout acne this long in ages. Googling it I have found that coffee is linked to acne and cranberry juice may help fight acne.

I don't know but that it has worked for me and I didnt change my diet other than no coffee and drinking a lot of cranberry juice.

Just figured I would pass it on.

Hell yah man, don't ask questions. If nothing else, at least you are saving your heart and body from caffeine.

Well anyways, I got rid of acne by using acne medication, but if coffee seems to work than go right ahead. However personally there were times when my acne would get alot better randomly and it wasn't cured or anything, so don't count your chickens jsut yet.

since always. Many people have problems with chocolate and acne like the OP stated, I have never heard of coffee but maybe the caffiene was the culprit? Dunno, but congrats OP.

Myth.

Foods can have an effect, but there have been no credible studies linking foods as the direct cause of common acne.

Acne is like a 2 week process or some sh!t. Which means 2 of your weeks where you didn't have a breakout were the result of when you were still drinking coffee.

actually, studies have shown chocolate (for most) does not have any link to acne, however, certain things that we eat/drink CAN help inprove our skin. Cranberry juice is known for its internal "antibacterial" properties. That is the reason why it is used in uninary tract health as well. I have been to many dermatologists and they all have said there is no link between greasy foods, chocolate, etc and acne.

Anyways, OP, thats great that you dont have to worry about acne anymore.

thats my reasoning behind the eating chocolate and waking up the next morning have worse acne being total BS, I know when I would stop acne medicine it was several days to a week before symptoms got noticibly worse. Also, I deffinitely did not have any problem with chocolate (since I hardly ever eat it anyways). Obviously certain foods can "casue" acne, but its more in terms of their being bad for your general health than them containing some ingredient that will make pimples suddenly appear.

Coffee could be involved because caffeine can causes hormonal changes.

Hormones are the main cause of acne.

For me, it was different. When I gave up smoking in my 30s, I started breaking out like a teenager on my face and upper back.

But a daily low dose of minocycline stopped it cold.

Well, I am on the lookout for more acne and no I am not in my teens or tweens but older.
If I don't see any acne for another 3 weeks then something is working no doubt. I just bought some candy... lol.

I know all about them saying chocolate doesnt cause acne but I also know from experience for me that if I eat chocolate the next day I wake up with acne breakout. So, chocolate may not cause acne but it certainly brings it out in me.
