I have been asked to set something up that will scan for and gather press releases from various sites. They asked that the information or link be sent to an email account that many people can access. I installed a firefox plugin that scans websites for changes. This worked but it does not meet the requirement of being accessable to everyone.
There seem to be some programs that can do email alerts but it appears they only work with sites that have RSS feeds. I'm not too familiar with RSS. It seems theres are other sites that will let you make RSS feeds for sites that dont have them. So my question is is this right approach? If I go the RSS route would I be better off installing a reader on everyones computer with some kind of shared account so everyone can see the articles vs everything being dumped into an email account. I'm not exactly sure where to start on this. Thanks
