I am reformatting a friend's computer and I get an error during XP installation saying that I am required to insert the Service Pack 1 CD. They don't have this CD anymore. I guess Gateway just broke up the installation to require a few CDs. Does anyone know a solution to this. Hopefully there is a way I can make a CD that will solve this problem.

Thanks

Download SP1 (and SP2) from Microsoft's website, extract it. Burn the contents into a CD.

EDIT: to extract it, create a folder ( say sp1) on your C drive. Then go to command prompt, type

cd
cd sp1
xpsp1.exe -x:c:\sp1 [ENTER]
