gateway vx900 monitor problems

hey i just got a gateway vx900 monitor and it was working fine until now...all of a sudden the screen turned grey and i cant see anything on the screen....i unhooked it and tried it a day later and it worked, but only for about 30 min and then it happened again...can anyone tell me if they had a problem like this or if they have any solution...thanks!!!
 
Well, assuming that it's not a power saving mode kicking in then it's probably going bad. I had an old 17" MAG monitor that started doing that and then it came back on once again and everything was a complete blur. It died on me the next time I turned it on.

Go to Control Panel>Power Management>Power Schemes and check to see if anything is turned on. Select "Never" on all schemes to shut them off. Also, check your system BIOS and make sure APM is turned off in there as well.
