Gateway Processor Upgrades

I have a Gateway PIII 450 w/ 100Mhz bus. I want to upgrade it to a PIII 1Ghz chip w/ 100Mhz bus speed. My mother board (according to the gateway site ) is: Intel (Jabil) Pentium II Motherboard w/ Integrated Audio, Motherboard info from gateway but I have been told by their tech support the it is a TaborIII motherboard with an intel 440BX chipset. Anyhow, I have the latest and greatest bios (4W4SB0X0.15A.0019.P14). Any info would be greatly appreciated.

I didn't see it anywhere in the board description (I just skimmed it), but as long as the board uses a 440BX and can support the right voltage it should work fine. Although I did catch something about it not supporting any coppermine processors. You might want to look into that.
