im looking for a laptop, but dont know which brand to get, what would you suggest?

Dell if those are your choices. IBM makes good books as well.

Gateway anything is crap; I'd recommand almost any brand over Gateway.

i've gotta disagree with reitz about gateway anything being crap, but their laptops are too expensive. the 5300 isn't a bad laptop though- just too expensive.
