Gateway/necx indirect good news/bad news

Primarily for the Toshiba camera ($454-$50IR-$100MIR + a bag of goodies worth probably $30), but may also affect the purchasers of the Vision tek Xtasy (is that a legal drug ?) and all the other necx screwups.
As I've posted before in the camera thread I've dealt with 5 of their mostly clueless CSR's plus one manager. Yesterday the mngr told me to call her back and she would see what she could do.
Today, after searching their website I found NOTHING that I would buy if she gave me $50 off.
So I called her up and told her that. She replied that because of the large amount of complaints they were getting that they ARE going to reorder the camera and I could wait for it on backorder. Well the MIR HAS to be postmarked by 31 Mar, and I'm overseas from the 21st on. She sounded REALLY hesitant that they could ENSURE delivery prior to the 19th.
I politely told her NO way.
I'm responsible for personally fielding about $1M of computer equipment to the field Army annually. If I lie, guys die. I'm extremely aggravated to be given the run around, and have them act like it's business as usual.
So the bottom line - GOOD News - hang in there, hassle them, and you might get your stuff a few weeks late.
The bad news - I don't. When you hassle them ask for extras, like memory cards for the camera. Make them change their ways!!
