I'm looking for specs on a gateway solo 9100 with the 14.1 screen. I have a new chassis for it and I'll be darned if I can find any documentation on it anywhere for replacement directions. I've removed every screw imaginable and it's still tight. I can not find any hidden releases and Gateway refuses to help me on this.
I bought the chassis off of an auction site that shall remain nameless and he bought it off of Gateway since it was mislabeled.
I use it for field work and it is developing hair line fractures around the speakers and a $50 chassis is cheaper than a new lappy.
Any help would be appreaciated, thanks!
 
Check under labels for screws....

also, lots of times laptops will use plastic clips to hold things in place. You gotta use somehting like a credit-card or longer to press and flex a side to relase the catches.....hard to do if you don't know where to press.

Thanks Souka, I'll look for releases like that. This has turned into such an excercise in futility that I'm real close to throwing it out the window but then I remember I'd have to buy another lap top if I were to do that. :disgust:
