Gateway GT5426E@Best Buy for $900

I saw this show up in the weekend flyer that takes affect in the morning.

Best Buy has a Gateway 5426E for $900 with a 17" flat panel and Canon MP160 printer.

Here are the specs:

• AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual-Core 5000+
  2GB DDR2 memory
  320GB hard drive
  RW DVD/CD
  nVidia Georce 6150 SE graphics

Note: I will probably take advantage of their upgrade offer to get a 19" flat panel for an additional $30.

Any feedback on if this is a good deal is appreciated.

Maybe I should quality what we need. This system will be used by my kids to play Lego's Star Wars and Civilization IV. Also, we homeschool so this system would be used to run some of their school applications like Typing Instructor for Kids.

We are not into heavy duty gaming so I don't see the need for cutting edge hardware. I wanted the knowledgeable opinion of forum members that I can expect to see several years of good use out of this system. What is the overall reliability of Gateway systems like? I get the idea they are a little mediocre.

Configure as needed. You'd be fine with the defaults, I think, unless you wanted to get a bigger monitor (upgrading to a 22" WS LCD brings the total to $669).
