Compusa had this 19" widescreen monitor for $159 during the Friday moonlight sale, was sold out but the local Circuit City gave me the same price so I brought one home.
I've had it pop up in searches because its one of the few PC monitors with HDCP, and general comments are its decent monitor for a cheap price. Its a nice looking unit, wider than I expected, thin black bezel, and the image quality seems very good.
Cheap means the stand isn't the optional height adjustable one, and the speakers are optional, ships with power and D vga only, no cable for the DVI. I was in a hurry, so instead of waiting for monoprice, I popped $10 for a swapmeet DVI/DVI and ouch $20 for a HDMI/DVI. No space on my desk yet, so I put it on top of the livingroom TV and plugged the HDMI into my cable box.
Says its 720P on the box (nothing about TV in the specs) but its running right now at 1920x1079 60hz (reported on the monitor info screen) and cable box says 1080p. Its HD all right very sharp, but HD on a 19" will make you blind, so I just watched a couple hours.
flipping between the half dozen must carry HD local channels I get free.
I haven't tried much in the way of setup, and not sure how much I can do except for some minor contrast/color settings (using DVI greys many menu options), but it was sharp with too much color and too much contrast to suit me, faces kinda red tinge not fleshy like my current TV, but ruddy looking. No setup, so who can say, its going on a PC for me anyway.
Some issues, after about an hour of HD, I was messing with cable box settings and couldn't get anything but 1080p to stick on the cable boxk gave up and flipped from Oprah with a mostly square image to Law and Order with a wide screen, and maybe coincidently dunno, the LCD started reseting itself every 3 or 4 seconds. Changing channels, powering it off for a short time, nothing helped. Powered it off a few minutes, but started again in less than a minute. Powered it off for a longer bit, and its been fine since. I didn't turn it off, and its been about a half hour and still no sleep mode, so maybe that isn't with DVI input or something related to my cablebox.
Tomorrow I put it on the PC where it is normally going to live, and see how it does there. Hopefully the reseting was just some glitch and nothing is wrong, since I got the last one except for the floor unit, which I got no wants of.
