Hey there. I reciently took apart my Gateway 9300 laptop to fix it. My mom spilled a glass of wine on it and i wanted to clean the parts up because they hard carmalized sugar on them 😛. I know the machine itself works. The computer worked fine last week when I put Linux on it, so I'm sure its something I did when I put the computer back together.
Anyways, when I turn the power on, the power light goes on. Then I would normally hear the HD spinning up and a beep from the mobo but I hear neither of these. Its just silent. After about 20 seconds, the CPU cooler fan turns on. Thats pretty much all that happens. I still have 1 or 2 left over screws from the inside. I am positive I screwed in all the screws for the motherboard. I also didn't screw the ribbon cable that goes to the LCD down. The cable has a little hole in it (a ground i guess) to put a screw it but it was difficult to get the screw back in so I didn't do it. Thats pretty much all i know on this end. Can someone please help me?
