Hi,
Working on a Gateway laptop. The problem it has is that it does not like to boot. When the power comes on nothing comes up ususally. In the rare event that the system POSTs, it will run for about 10-15 seconds and then hang completely, regardless of where it is - in BIOS or loading Windows.
I replaced the CMOS battery because it was giving cmos checksum errors and it had reset its clock. It makes no noises usually on boot, just turns on, fans start spinning and thats it.
If the RAM is removed it gives a beep code presumably indicating no ram.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.
