with S&H and tax it is about $500 for me ;)

Question: is it of cheaper TN variety of LCD ?

Back at $449. Does it have the ultrabright coating like the FHD2400? I am looking for an lcd and saw the 2400 at BB fro $549 and really liked it. I was all set to wait for the westy 24" to go on sale again but if the 2485 has the screen treatment, I think I'll just spend the extra $100 and get the additional options since I love the glossy coating.

Screen is matte finish. Pretty sure the FHD2400 is a TN as well, although TN panels have come a long way in the 10 months or so since I got my 2485. Still, love this panel and the extra inputs really come in handy. Gonna have to resist getting a second one. D:

I have two of these guys on my desk and absolutely love them, the multitude of inputs and the faroudja dcdi does a great job with analogue sources. I got mine on clearance at the local best buy for 330 each. Alot of BBs are clearancing these out so keep a lookout.

It's a really fantastic panel - we used them at work. Gateway may make so-so computers, but their LCDs are top notch.

Does anyone know how this monitor compares to the FPD2185W? In other words, is this a larger version of the same monitor?

I've been very happy with my Samsung 215TW (which was supposed to be the same as the Gateway FPD2185W) and now that I'm in the market for a 24", I'd like to get something comparable.
