Gateway 2185w Not receiving DVI signal

I just plugged my DVI cable into my monitor after exchanging my video card, and I can't get any signal to go to my monitor. What am I doing wrong? If I use a VGA cable (with a VGA to DVI adapter, as my card has 2 DVI ports) it works.

Ok, if I reboot my PC, it works, up until the windows screen. Then it goes away!

I'm going into the display manager, and trying to enable my monitor, but it just blinks a few times on this monitor, and then nothing happens, and the box unchecks itself.

(Currently using 2nd monitor)

Try both DVI connections on the vid card.

Did that as well. Works fine, up until the windows login screen.

Try uninstalling the vid card drivers, use driver cleaner, and reinstall?

Connect to the VGA port only and boot.
Make sure your resolution is 1680x1050.
Make sure the refresh rate is 60Hz.
Then, power down the PC.
Disconnect from the VGA port and only connect to the DVI port of the monitor and boot.

Process completed, to no avail. Interesting note though. When I plugged the VGA back in, the video mode had reset itself to the meager 800x600 resolution.

Have you tried setting the monitor to the number 1 position and right click on it and use attach.

You can go to the Gateway web site and fill out a form for technical support. You will need the serial number for that. They will get back to you in a few hours.
