I'll throw in my 2 cents...the color saturation is outstanding, even for a PVA panel, but it also has the same "banding" problems that plague some PVA panels. Playing HL2, FarCry or even watching a DVD or WMV9 encoded movie the banding is appearant and bothersome to me. You can see the halo surronding bright lights and sky images look fake. I will say that I have no whine from mine.

I traded up to this from some Dell 20" Widescreens due to edge lighting problems (3 of them and all the latest revision), and this Gateway will be going back this weekend. Not sure If I am ready to pay the amount of money for the NEC, and the Apple is missing a few items I would like.

Just my thoughts.

Tweakin, can you define banding a bit more? So, you can see steppings in shades of colors? I thought that was only a problem with 6-bit panels.

after listening to the buzz for a month and a half, I recently bumped UP the brightness to help with WoW and was pleasantly surprised when the noise went away!
