I just can't see myself getting one when I got a brand new one just over a week ago for $5 more. :(

I believe he's referring to the Dell 1800FP deal, which is now dead.

Are these specs any good?

Contrast ratio 350:1 (typical)
Response times 30 mSec (rise + fall typical)
Brightness 200 candelas per square meter (minimum)
250 candelas per square meter (typical)

Are these specs decent? Found them at Gateway's spec sheet for this LCD.

Hmm, seems some earlier revisions of this LCD (the FPD1830 as per the part number given by overstock) had problems with DVI connections. I wonder if these reconditioned units have this problem? See this thread I found at Google groups here.

ebates gives another 4% back. Can you stack the 10% coupon with ebates?

If so, it comes out to $345.59 + $2.95 shipping = $348.54 shipped.

I got in on this deal for about $364 shipped. The monitor is a Gateway FPD1830 with DVI, 350:1 brightness, 30ms response, and 0.2805mm dot pitch. Full specs here[/L]. The LCD is actually manufactured by LG (based on lookup of the FCC ID), same as in the Dell 18" LCD...the specs are remarkably similar, which leads me to believe that they are essentially the same screen in different enclosures. My particular monitor arrived from overstock.com without outer packaging, but did include both a D-SUB cable and the DVI cable along with a manual. I'm really happy with the performance of the monitor -- in DVI mode, it's razor sharp, the contrast is great, and the viewing angle is excellent. The only drawback is that there is a slightly incompatibility with nVidia cards and Gateway LCD monitors in DVI mode that causes the screen to intermittently blank out -- this can be fixed most of the time with a software update from Gateway. More info can be found by searching Usenet for FPD1830, FPD1810, FPD1800.

Crap! i ordered one with the $10 coupon. then i later i find theres a 10% coupon. i tried to cancel my order to reorder with the other coupon. and since they my shipping and billing are diff they are in a "process" where they can not touch until tomorrow morning. by then they will be sold out. as of right now 10:05EST there are 2 monitors left. .. could have saved that extra $30 if overstock wasnt so stupid.

yeah, I wasn't going to but ValsalvaYourHeartOut's post turned me around. I can probably sell it to one of my lan buds if I don't like it anyways.

edit: dang, now what am I going to do with 2 21" monitors and 2 18.1" LCDs? Guess dual displays on both my computers now then :) Dang, now I have to find another dual output video card and a desk.

Hehe, I kinda wish I didn't cancel my order. On the other hand, it's one less thing I need to pay off :)
