Gates v. Jobs back ... or did it ever leave?

After reading the Seattle Times article about a rift between Apple and Microsoft at the iTunes for Windows release, and having always been interested in the Gates v. Jobs drama, is this a return of extensive competition between the two figures or did it ever stop? Or am I naive?

If anyone has any other sources about recent Gates/Jobs history, post them.

Simply put, Apple is no competition for Microsoft. That doesn't mean Apple is inferior, but look at the market cap. of both companies:

Microsoft: 282.01B
Apple: 8.25B

Whether or not there is a personal vendetta between the two, I have no idea.

Well I was really eluding to Gates and Jobs, not Microsoft and Apple. The past the two have had since the personal computing industry started has been highly publicized.
