yes, it is important in their development. We have looked over a few studies in child psych as a class and children(0-2yrs) DO recognize like the 20 basic sounds of all language. Some (Psycologists on this movie we watched) think that they even begin to make up the most basic sounds in the womb. I don't know about that really.....

I think its a good idea to speak regularly. When I have a child im doing the whole sign language deal - may as well introduce as much cognitive development as possible at the younger ages.
