There's literally nothing to it.

Just pour it in, start it up, turn the mixture screw until it seems to be running OK, and go.

I don't know how long the carb parts will last, but your local small engine service shop will have carb rebuild kits for you. That's an easy task for a nerd, considering people with room temp IQs can master small engines.

You guys are lame...Its possible to convert practically any gas engine to methanol. Very few modifications are required, and the resulting performance gains are impressive. Maybe 30 percent or more. It's all in the carb. You'll be using 2x as much fuel as with gasoline, maybe more. You need to modify the jets in the carb....the main jet size will double or more to run methanol. This size doesn't seem to be very critical, the more the better. Some carbs cannot be modified to use methanol...you just have to try.

To get the maximum benefit from methanol, you should raise the compression. You can do this because of the built-in cooling effect of methanol. I fooled around with methanol and two-cycle motorcycles for years. Only problem I had was difficulty starting in cold weather. It's sort of like over-clocking a computer, lots of fun.

Be aware of some of the problems of running alcohol before you do it. Alcohol is can harm metals, plastics and rubber, especially in an engine that is not designed for it. If you are going to leave the engine for a period of time without running it, run some gas through the engine to clean it out (it will run like crap because it will be so rich), and spray some WD40 or something in the carb. Also, you have to make sure to change the oil often to avoid alcohol accumulation in the oil.

ive seen gallon jugs of methanol. (at stores like uh.. can't think of an american example.. hmm.. ghetto mechanical and electronic surplus stores, department stores that are geared towards cars)

IIRC gasline antifreeze = methyl alcohol. (methanol)
