Gas prices up 40 cents today!

my uncle, who owns a local oil company, called my dad and some other family members this morning around 8am and said to expect it to go up 45 cents or so today alone :/

Up $0.61 in Mount Sterling, KY to $3.11 per gallon at one station. Gouging at it's finest. I imagine that will drop quickly as Labor Day weekend passes and Gulf oil shipments and refining are brought back online.

There needs to be some regulation so price gauging doesn't occur.
I can't believe how quickly the gas prices are rising the past 1.5 years

$2.65 here, but I talked to a friend today who said some gas station person said it'll probably go up 40c overnight..

gas companies have too many friends in DC for that to happen.

What we need to do is to bring about a challenge... like the great space race in the middle of the last century.

The challenge then was to be the first to land on the moon... the challenge now should be the first to start selling a consumer car that runs on alternate fuels.

Think about it. If Japan does it first, American car companies are going to take one of the bigger hits they've taken in the past few decades. But if the American car companies can do it first, and do it right, they might just pull themselves out of the gutter.
