Gas prices supposed to go up tommorow!?

doesn't really affect me much. it'd be a short-term increase if anything and I don't have to fill up my tank for another 2-3 weeks.

it's explained right here:

That all changed on the wholesale market Thursday, Kloza said, largely from concerns about the potential damage Ike may cause to refineries along the Texas coast. Texas is home to 26 refineries that account for one-fourth of U.S. refining capacity, and most are clustered along the Gulf Coast in places such as Houston, Port Arthur and Corpus Christi. Exxon Mobil Corp. (nyse: XOM - news - people )'s plant in Baytown, outside Houston, is the nation's largest refinery.

"This is about refineries in the target of the storm," Kloza said. "This is about refineries having to shut down for probably five, six, seven days even if the storm misses them."

I must be losing my mind... I hit post and by the time I saw it in the topic list 8 people viewed it... cant be right....

Yeah I read the article. I just want to hear everyone complain...

It'll be short-lived. OPEC just agreed on cuts, but Saudi Arabia disagreed and walked out. Remember, SA is the world's leading producer and exporter.

I work at a full service gas station pumping gas so it's gonna be interesting to see how people react.

Wow I want to live where you live.

Mine is around that too. I paid 2.45 just a few days ago. We have like the lowest tax in the country, which keeps the rednecks happy. I do need some for the weekend, so I'll buy some tonight.

We're still a touch over $3.60...$3.84 for premium. I haven't seen below $3 in a long, long time. 🙁

Walmart was $2.43 if i used a giftcard.

And I was wondering why every gas station I drive by was packed with lineups. Screw that, my time is more precious.

No state has more than $.50 gas tax, so I'd love to know how some areas of the country are getting gas for $1/gallon less than the rest of us.

I don't know how accurate this $2.45 claim is. Gas Buddy is showing the lowest price in South Carolina as $3.33.

I just stopped to get gas an hour or so ago and wondered wth was going on. Traffic backed up to the highway. It was $3.79 per gallon , then they raised it to $3.99 as I was leaving.
