Gas Prices Lower

OMG i went to fill up my gas tank this morning and it says $1.99 am i just dreaming this or is gas actually becoming affordable.

Still $2.09 to me.

If it goes to $1.49 (yeah, I know a real pipe dream) then I'd be happy.

I'm still waiting for the panic-buying of 4-cyl trucks around here to slow down so I can actually test drive one on the lot.

Sorry, I'm not seeing how being glad that gas prices are going down is brainwashing. I'm not saying I'm happy to be paying $2/gal when I was paying $1.50 or less a year or so ago but I am happy that it is looking like $2-$3+ gas is not going to be permanent.

Holy crap...that sucks for me, I just lost $50. My econ prof and I bet a couple poli-sci guys that gas would never be under $2 again. 8-(

It's still in the 2.30-2.50 range here.

I wonder if we can hold-out until 'local' prices drop to that level. 😉

Sorry, I'm not seeing how being glad that gas prices are going down is brainwashing. I'm not saying I'm happy to be paying $2/gal when I was paying $1.50 or less a year or so ago but I am happy that it is looking like $2-$3+ gas is not going to be permanent.

he is saying that before this spike went to $3+ per gallon, everyone was complaining about $2+ prices for a gallon of gas.

now that it has gone back to $2+ everyone is saying that its cheap now because its not $3+, when in fact, its still expensive as all hell, just as expensive as it was when we were complaining about the $2+ prices before the hurricane.

$2+ for a gallon of gas is still ridiculously expensive, but as with the same way you feel, it certainly doesn't seem that bad compared to what we were paying a few months ago. but i still miss the days when I first got my license and it was $.90.

When we were paying $1.50, we thought we'd never see $2.00. Now that we've seen $3, you think $2 is cheap. You even just explained that yourself. How do you fail to see the logic behind the brainwashing here?

While I agree that it's insanely overpriced due to the incomes of the highest ranks at each level and transition, even $3 a gallon is not expensive from a global perspective. Americans are spoiled as hell when it comes to petrolium prices and availability compared with most of the rest of the world.

I never said $2 is cheap. I don't think $2 is cheap but I am glad to see it coming down from $3. Around $1.30-$1.50 is a good price. Anything less is cheap IMO.

You're ignorant if you aren't happy the price is lower than it was before, regardless of the before and after price changes. Less out of your pocket is good, no?

You're ignorant if you think $2.00/gal gas is expensive, compare it to the rest of the world, or even just Europe.

no kidding...I picked up a new marketing job on the weekends that requires a good amount of driving...filling up the GTO was no laughing matter at $3.xx a gallon. $2.29/gal earlier today...much better. Wouldn't mind seeing it around $2 or less either 😉
