Gas pipe broadband?

That sounds pretty cool. If they can test it successfully, I'm sure many utilities would buy into it. The only question is, what happens when it hits a valve or goes around a corner?

I wouldn't doubt they have to do the same thing as the power guys are doing, which is add couplers and bypasses to go around the stuff that the RF signal can't travel through. A little harder to do when your lines are buried though 🙂.

Competition is a great thing. That's why I love seeing the phone companies stepping up with stuff like fiber to the door.
