Many people like to clip their nails regularly. Not on the plane, but while they're on vacation. A lot of people, myself included, do not check any baggage. What's so hard to understand?

Well if you don't want to check a bag but do want to take nail clippers or a cork screw with you...however in reality nail clippers are a non-issue now, I keep a pair in my toiletry bag and have made 40+ flights in the last year without so much as a peep from security anywhere, pretty sure cork screws are still a big no-no though. Many people have problems now since most every airline wants to charge for checked bags so people just do carry ons, but you can't take just anything in a carry on now

Take out the added taxes, and their gas prices are very similar to ours.

It's about $5.24 US/gal in Toronto, and we're an oil producing nation. There are no legitimate reasons for it to be so high. But with the government making tax dollars hand over fist, they have no reason to even discuss the matter.

I always fill my Civic up when it gets to 1/4. Last week was the first time in six years I've owned it that a fill-up cost over $50.

Price was $5.17 USD for a US gallon of regular gas.

It's funny watching Americans complain about fuel prices and being forced to take public transport or stop working, when gas still costs half as much there as the rest of the world. Yet we still have cars. Traffic congestion even.

What's funny is the high taxes you're paying for your fuel. (among other taxes on other goods/services)

We bitch about the high cost of oil because we know that the high price is caused by speculators playing the market...not the actual price of the oil.
