But, it's high performance fuel. We pay anywhere from $8 to $15 a gallon for fuel at the races, and that's in bulk. I don't find the price in the OP to necessarily be that outrageous, considering the packaging, etc. (Unless it's just plain, ordinary 87 octane with no ethanol.)

My 4-cycle fuel costs $3.34/gallon. It is vinegar free.

Well, if you live in a state where they add a lot of ethanol to fuel this might be worth buying. I don't know all the chemistry, but to put it technically, ethanol body-slams your carburetor. Here in NJ where they add a ridiculous amount of ethanol to our fuel if you leave that crap sitting in your equipment without any additives it will trash the fuel system. I had to have my mower fuel system cleaned out this year before it would run, and the guy at the small engines place clued me in to what ethanol was doing to my equipment. The repair cost $50, and I now use an additive he recommended to prevent the problem.

They using methanol at the track? That stuff isn't cheap.

I can understand the 2 cycle cans.
If you only have a weed eater, 1-2 cans can last a full season and you never need to buy oil and mix it.

I bet at least a few people buy the 4 cycle stuff too... which makes me cry.

Why? Don't lawnmowers use a lower compression than cars? They don't need high octane fuel.

Stihl sells their version for $40/gal. 92 octane, no ethanol, i think it's 2 cycle though..iirc

they dont need it, but if they run long enough and get hot it can make a difference.

I am going to buy gas for $4 a gallon and sell little pint size bottles for $20 and become rich.

I'll also mix some with oil and sell my own 2 cycle premix. lol
