Glad you got it fixed.

But in case you ever have something like this come up again, I used to use hose clamps that you get at the local hardware store to hold oxygen hoses that had 40 - 80 psi running through them.

These were the standard oxygen and acetylene hoses that are about 1/4 inch on the inside diameter.

Once you get past the regulator, the pressure drops off a lot. The pressure on that hose is probably no more then a few ounces, or maybe a couple of psi.

Well it's obviously higher than 14.7 psi.:sneaky:

By gas, he meant gasoline, not acetylene. Gasoline isn't easily lit with a cigarette, except in the movies where the villain tosses the lit cigarette into the puddle of gasoline. You could easily extinguish a cigarette by putting it out in a pool of gasoline.

So true. When I was around 12, I was "working" at a local gas station, little 2 bay station. The owner/mechanic was draining a gas tank to replace it and used a cut down 55 gal. drum as his drain "pan." And he smoked like a chimney.

He's smoking away, the drum of gas sitting there and he says, "Watch this." He tossed his lit cig into the drum, whereupon the cig simply went out with a sizzle when it hit the gas, just like it hit water.

Of course, he did it for my reaction. It must have been good because he laughed for quite a while.

Yep...but if he'd have hit the side and sent a shower of sparks...they MIGHT have ignited the fumes. I've seen it happen a few times.

Amazon is fabulous. Yesterday, about noon, I ordered the regulator/hose assembly in my previous post. I DID an extra $5.00 over "budget shipping" to get two day delivery...and it was delivered in less than 24 hours.

Wimp - you are supposed to use a lit match!

They actually had a warning against doing that in the installation instructions for the gas range I installed last summer so I guess there must be people that use that method.
