Two 1hr cycles on high and towels and jeans are still not completely dry. Is it just clogged somewhere or could the heating element have gone bad, if that's possible. Yes, the lint filter and the slot it goes in is clean.
Do the clothes come out warm? If not, it's probably the igniter. If they do come out warm there may be a clog in the vent somewhere. Turn on the dryer then go outside and see if/ how much air is making out of the vent.
My electric dryer stopped drying effectively after I moved it recently. The exhaust vent outside had a screen that was clogged and blocking the flow of air. I ended up taking some snips to it and cut the plastic totally apart to keep it from clogging. Go to Walmart or BB&B and get a lint brush ASAP to check your lines. Blockages are the number one cause of dryer fires.
