Gary,

Would love to see what you've got !!

Suggestion (a polite one) - publish what you've got on parts 2 and 3 in the next couple days and then update it if you need to.

Thanks !!

Part 1.5 was held do to the NV Gala yesterday. It will go up tonight. Part 2 should be up next week and Part 3 right afterwards. Sorry for the delay, had some emergency obligations these past couple of weeks. A planned trip to visit most of the memory, storage, and motherboard manufacturers for most of next week also threw a monkey wrench into the schedule. I will be discussing customer support extensively next week on my visit and we have answers from most of the manufacturers now about our hardware and support issues. Also, I had to retest all of the CrossFire capable boards do to some measurable differences in our early 6.10 beta and the final release.

The delays in this roundup have become ridiculous. I perfectly understand that sickness played a part in this but it doesn't change the fact that the missing roundup has now passed last sales date for me. I have waited and waited but have now decided to go ahead with my new mobo purchase without your recommendations. And by that I really believe you guys dropped the ball. Whatever the reason for the latest delays I'm not even sure I can trust the roundup when and if it ever gets published. To me it seems that you are giving the board makers way too much influence on the final recommendation instead of just nakedly reviewing the products. Although negative, I hope this criticism will be useful for Anandtech in some way.

Sittingduck, if you don't find what you want here when you want it, there are other tech sites that do reviews on the interweb. Try a Google search.

Probably not. I suppose you are perfect and have never missed a deadline? I also guess
that you have never experienced an emergency, whether it is health or family related, that
has greatly altered your daily routine? How nice to be so lucky. How 'bout you research with
google next time instead of being lazy waiting for Anandtech to do it for you.

BladeVenom: Surely, that's what I ended up doing. Would have liked Anandtech's input, though, since I value their opinion.

bigsnyder: I'm a newspaper journalist so, no, I don't miss my deadlines as that would mean blank pages. Newspapers and websites don't compare, though, but you asked. And yes, I have experienced personal tragedy. More than you would imagine. However, personal emergencies do not account for all the time it takes to make this roundup. Even Gary Key would agree, I think. The mistake Anandtech has made is to announce their deadlines several times. If they prefer to post articles "when they're done", then they should just say that.
And I don't consider myself lazy any more than you consider yourself unpleasant. My criticism was focused and unpersonal. Still is. Whatever your feelings are, my feedback is useful.

From a professional perspective, I can see your point, but I wasn't just referring to work
related deadlines. I was referring to punctuality in general (paying bills, making it to
appointments, Again, I reassert my point.

Without knowing the specifics of Gary's emergency, that is a bold statement on your part.
IMO, it is not your place to make that judgement.

Based on the tone of your original post, it sounded as if his review was the only source of
information dictating your decision. As far as being unpleasant, I am not the one whose
very first post on the forum is a complaint about when the review will be completed. If
the delay of the article concerns you so much, then you should take it up with Gary in PM
or email. Your "focused and unpersonal" might be mistaken for trolling.

Let's try to wrap this up. Never meant to make too big a deal out of it.
I agree, that I'm not the one to make judgements on Gary's emergency, and I'm not trying to. By reading other threads on this forum I have come to understand that new Crossfire or SLI drivers accounted for a complete new set of benchmarks which isn't done overnight. Also, it seems that Gary is busy trying to help out with the Gigabyte bios at the moment. Although very helpful to the end users, I'm not sure it's the best way to review motherboards. Anandtech might end up portraying a different board maker, than what the end user will meet. We all look good with makeup.

Maybe my job has damaged me, but what you read as my complaining, I see as feedback which is useful to writers - positive or not. That's all there was to it. I have a lot of use for this site - regardless of a single disappointment. Hope that's clear now.

Jeez, calm down. So there's one site you like that often has hardware reviews and you wanted to know what they thought. Try the motherboards forum? Post your thoughts and ask for feedback? Try a number of other reputable sites? Do your own research and comparisons? So Gary didn't have an article out in time due to personal reasons beyond his control. I don't remember anandtech signing a service level agreement with me stating that I'll get all the information I need on their first announced deadline, let alone before I make an important purchase.

Fair enough point, one that deserves to be made, but I have faith that we will receive a
review that accurately as possible reflects the end user experience. As already mentioned,
this forum will be a great resource if anything to the contrary arises.

Again, fair enough. I will also retract the comment about being lazy in my first response.
In hindsight, I realize that was uncalled for on my part. My apologies. I agree that we should
move on and enjoy the site.
