Garmin TOPO Maps

Hey guys, I have a Garmin eTrex Vista Hcx and currently have TOPO 2008 maps on it. I'm wondering if the TOPO 100K maps are the same or if they are different. Some sites are selling them as if they're the same maps. And from what I hear TOPO 2008 already is 100K and not 250K like I've also heard.

Can anyone shed some light on this?

topo 2008 maps are 1:100.000 Scale which is 100k, garmin has so many varients of map sets it can get confusing. I have the Topo US 2008 also and can confirm it's 100k, don't look at what retailers got cause some of it is out of date. Go to the garmin page for your GPS and look up the map sets offered for it. It will show you all the most up to date retail map sets for the Vista HCx. You can then get the product code and THEN go to a retailer to find a better price. I linked the garmin product page I spoke of below, click Maps tab and "View additional maps for this product" and it'll give you a HUGE list of the different maps for trail, road, and water. I also linked you the topo 2008 from amazon which gives the full description of it.

Hope that helps clarify
