Garmin Nuvi Owners (fm transmitter)

So i brought a Magellan 5040 GPS for $100. For $40 more i could get a Garmin 775t GPS with a MP3 Player for the car. Now i read reviews and everyone says the FM transmitter through your car speaker is weak and cuts in and out or just doesn't work.

Is this the case for everyone else?

I have a garmin with fm transmitter, and it's not very usable. On any decently long trip, (30 miles or more) I'll have to switch the fm channel several times to keep a signal, and even then it still has static.

.Thanks, Guess ill wait on the garmin. It would make sense to get it, but then i would need to upgrade my car stereo to one with AUX port. That way i could play the GPS thru the aux to my car speakers..
