Disclaimer: a little work was required to get this, but I think it's worth it.

Comp-U-Plus has the Garmin Nuvi 765T for 379 + 15 shipping (+Tax in NY only)

By itself, I think that's a pretty good price (Amazon is 425 shipped), but you can also get a $50 gift certificate to Comp-U-Plus by signing up for an AMEX Blue Card via their site, bringing the total to 344, which is quite hot.

I was a little hesitant to go with Comp-U-Plus, as I had never heard of them before, but their reseller ratings score was about 6.5 lifetime, which I thought was worth the risk.

I got shipping confirmation today, so the deal is good!

Edit: one more disclaimer:
They claim to send you the email with the $50 code within 7 business days of being accepted by AMEX, but note that "you may get it much sooner." I lost patience and nudged them after about 5 days. They just asked for my name, address, email, etc I used to apply, and they sent me the code a little while later.

Um...don't you think that depends on if you want the added features of the 765? It adds more than lifetime traffic. Lane assist is what sold me on the newer model. It also has an updated GUI/SW package and the GPS receiver is a newer generation that acquires and tracks satellites better.

I'd take the 765t over the 760. My 765t locks on to a signal much faster than my 760 does. The updated UI is much more convenient as well. The A2DP bluetooth profile that the 765t has allows me to send all audio to my car's head unit via bluetooth instead of using a 3.5mm cable connected to the 765t's headphone jack.

I got my brand new spanking GPS for $151.
Those extra 765 features are not worth $250 to me.

Lane Assist is a useless feature.
Those 3D buildings are a useless feature.
It never takes more than 30 seconds for my 760 to lock onto satellites. I don't need to go outside to do it either. I've gotten a lock at all places in my house that I've tried including the bathroom, bedroom, livingroom, and basement.
The GUI/SW package is nothing but a skin change. They just move stuff all around the screen that's all.

To you.

This is not a 760 vs 765 thread. If you don't like the unit, fine, but this is a good deal for those of us who DO think those features are worth the extra money.

My wife has the 765t and it's a nice unit. Text to speech is very accurate in pronunciation and if you go off route it recalculates very fast. We do like the lane assist, next turn indicator, and major highway intersection signs features. IMO the traffic feature isn't very helpful though. I'll be in traffic where it doesn't notify me and it will warn of traffic ahead where I don't see any.

Edit: I got hers for $350 shipped @ Amazon on Black Friday. It's nice to know it was a good deal back then because she was  when she saw it on the CC. 🙂

Yeah that BF deal was insane, too bad I was a poor student back then 😛 Hooray for graduating with a lucrative degree!
