I've had this maybe a little over a year. It would normally acquire after a few blocks of driving and now it takes forever. I've put it all over my windshield. I have a 2006 ford mustang if that helps. It worked fine before in this car. Anyone know what might be wrong? I've read this is a problem on an amazon forum but no solution was posted.

I'll try and call them. According to the site non warranty repairs are $234. For that price it'd be cheaper to just almost buy a new GPS. It did acquire as the car was parked for about 6 minutes this afternoon, however, driving back from 35 miles away today it didn't acquire at all. I arrived home with no fix at all.

I don't know anything about GPS, but it's essentially a radio right? So does it have an antenna? Is it ok? Not covered or blocked? Hows the power supply? What about interference from other devices? Did you buy anything else with a radio in it?

Everything in the car remains stock so I can't imagine it's anything in the car. Yeah the GPS from what I've heard is a radio. I always used to mount it on the windshield along the left side above the dash but after it started to for whatever reason have issues connecting i moved it to the middle with the same result. No antenna. I've tried it plugged into the cigarette lighter and also tried just running it off battery with the same result. I've never abused it or dropped it, etc. It's always remained in the car so I can't figure out how it would be "broken" if it was.

Well Good News. I called Garmin. They had me reset everything and update the software. It didn't work and I'm like 4 months out of warranty. The guy I spoke to gave me an address to send it into. They are going to fix it and send it back no charge. I'm just out the shipping to them so I'm happy.
