Garfunkel busted for marijuana again at Woodstock

Garfunkel busted for marijuana again at Woodstock Tue Aug 30, 2:43 PM ET

NEW YORK (Reuters) - Singer Art Garfunkel, who pleaded guilty to marijuana possession last year, has been arrested again on the same charge.

Garfunkel, 63, half of the legendary '60s duo Simon and Garfunkel, was pulled over on Sunday by a New York state trooper near Woodstock after running a stop sign, The Daily Freeman newspaper reported on Tuesday.

The trooper's report of the incident said a strong marijuana odor was coming from the car and a marijuana cigarette was found in the ashtray.

Garfunkel, who lives in New York City, was given a ticket and is due to appear in Woodstock Town Court on September 22.

In January 2004, Garfunkel was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana after state police from the same barracks stopped his car for speeding. He subsequently pleaded guilty and paid a $100 fine and a $100 state surcharge.

If it only cost him $200 the first time, I would have to say they really weren't expecting this to be a deterrent.

Pothead shouldn't be smokin' in the car. If you're gonna fire up a spliff, do it at home, where you're less likely to kill someone.

Not much of a fine for illegal drugs?

I said I wouldn't bet on it asswipe. And, I know he's got champaign taste, but what's he been doing to fund it?

I can read perfectly well sir no need to get pissy, asswipe. You're the one who made the moronic comparison to begin with.

Art and Paul have done reunion work together as recent as the late 90s. Royalties on old works as well as new, investments, other random sources of income, who knows. How do you know he has "champaign" (properly spelled champagne) tastes? If you and Art are so close, why don't you just call him up and ask him? While you're at it you can ask him to loan you a few bucks to place that bet with.

...other random sources of income, who knows?

EXACTLY why I wouldn't bet on it!

Nope, but he definatly has way more money than us to pay fines.

You've got some fvcking nerve talking about MY spelling, and making assumptions!

I'd be much more inclined to place a bet on him having financial security that puts ours to shame.

At least in my spelling error I didn't completely butcher the word. At least you tried though, right?
Also, you made an assumption in your first post as well, the nerve!

Actually smoking pot doesn't inhibit your ability to drive at all.
