Garage wall color?

evident

Lifer
Since this is the garage and all, how is everyone's garages painted?

I just got a new house and my garage has this dingy off white beige. hell, i think it's the original drywall that doesn't even have any layers of paint on it. I just threw some kilz primer on it this evening, and going to pick out a semi gloss color tomorrow. should i just go with an exterior semi gloss white? if you guys can give me some ideas, i'd really appreciate it!

also, one wall is cinder block, and the floor is concrete cement, but i'm going to focus on painting the drywall and will probably get to the concrete and cinder block next year

I wish I had a garage. I blame my total lack of knowledge about anything automotive - on not ever having a garage handy. 🙁

If I had one though, it'd be white and have plenty of light.

I just used semi-gloss white, the more light it reflects the brighter the garage is. Of course I am old, so I need the maximum light to see anything anymore, along with the glasses that sit way down on my nose.

Mine are unpainted cinder block but if I could paint it I'd paint it white. Too much crap hanging off the walls and in the way to bother painting it now.

I just picked up some valspar exterior semigloss white paint at lowes today and gonna be painting the drywall with it later. I'll prob get to the cinder blocks sometime later after i get all my moving in stuff out of the garage, and before i bring in all the tools and crap that are gonna be staying out there!

unfinished walls look best IMO. It's a garage.

Or plywood
hell no. i've waited all my life to have a place w/ a garage. i plan to spend alot of time in it working on my car and other projects. it's also a place where you go in and out of every day to get to your car so you're always in and out of it. It might end of looking ragged down the line due to wear and stuff scuffing the walls, but i'm hoping to give it a fresh look at the start. right now there's kid's writing all over the drywall from two owners ago =\.

All I have in my Garage is bricks and cinder block. I'd like it to be painted inside and the floor treated. Right now the floor is just ridged concrete. It does have light, power and a door to the rear garden, though.
