Yeah, I thought it was embarrasing to goto these things too. But you can pick up some incredible bargains. Recent pickups:

-ViewSonic 21" monitor for $5 (works perfectly, a tiny bit fuzzy compared to my KDS Avitron 19", but still very usable).
-3 piece boston accoustics sub/speaker setup for $5. Very high quality, the mini satellite tweeters weigh about 3 pounds each. They were asking $30, I offered less since the AC adaptor was not included. Was told "take it for $5"!
-A cardboard box full of old camera equipment for $140- $15 off the asking price. Since I'm a pro photographer, I'm a bit knowledgable about what's valuable and scooped it right up. I've sold two of the 7 items on ebay already for $120 combined, and the other 5 should bring about $600 more
-gameboy advance with light, battery, games, case, etc. for $15. Should bring around $65 on ebay

How's that KDS working? There was a deal today on a 19" KDS at CompUSA or something, $34 after rebates, I went for it, hoping it'll be a sweet display :)

Oh, and on the subject of garage sales, guy came into my shop today looking for parts for a Canon EOS Digital Rebel 6.2MP he picked up for $100. No box, no instructions, no battery or CF card, but seems to work perfectly otherwise. Came with the kit too, not just the body. HELL of a deal.

It's an Avitron 195-something or other. Had it for about 4 years. I've burned through 2 replacement units, but one was after I spilled coke on the back, and KDS has always overnighted the replacement free of cost. I love it-I use it for graphics work daily.

This reminds me, I need to make a list of my stuff and what it is worth in case I drop off suddenly.

The one I'm getting is a XF-9S Xtreme Flat...seems good, I'm sure it'll do well to replace my 5 year old Philips :)
