Garage door opener: chain, belt or screw drive?

Remodeling the garage. Have a 15 year old Sears chain drvie that I have had to repalce the internal plastic worm drive a couple times, and the controls that we keep in the car are worn out...

Never had a belt or screw drive.. which is better?

I've always preferred screw, least opportunity for something to break. I've seen too many chains or belts break.

Chains are more standard. Only difference between chain and screw is the screw type is very quiet. THey both normally last just as long. I'ev never heard of a Belt drive before.

my screwdrive model was a royal pain in the ass to install. (god that sounded bad)

seriously, screwdrive are alright once you get them put in.
