interesting read...

http://seattletimes.nwsource.c...002152199_gangs16.html

In Baltimore, Rickey Prince, a 17-year-old who saw a gang murder and agreed to testify against the killer, was shot in the back of the head a few days after a prosecutor read Prince's name aloud in a packed courtroom.

And in each city, CDs and DVDs titled "Stop Snitching" have been made identifying by name some people whom street gangs suspect of being witnesses against them and warning that people who cooperate with the police will be killed. To underscore its message, the Baltimore DVD shows what appears to be three dead bodies on its back cover above the words "snitch prevention."

it's not really something to joke about.

We have a gang problem in Toronto. We've had many gang-related murders in hte past three years.

The most recent was a teenager shooting someone else IN A PUBLIC BUS in daylight. Sadly he managed to hit a young girl (13year old I believe) and blinded her for life. :(

Another kid got shot in the SCHOOL PARKING LOT during school hours. There's so many more.

There's lots of teenagers running around with AK-47s in the trunk of thier cars. Seriously. Luckily a bunch of them got caught and all their weapons got consfiscated.

Living near Jane-Finch I can attest to this. I live in the gutter.

They need to declare a war on the gangs in Toronto. Who cares about the police image. Give them some high powered arms and go full force on these POS.

Edit: Hate to stereotype but I'd say that most of the probs around here are by Jamaicans, too. They just let too many damn people into Canada without screening background. Case in point: sister went to Washington DC this past week. On the way there the US border was cumbersome to get through. On the way back the lady asked "are you Canadian" and everyone on the bus said "yes"... she let them in without looking at one paper :frown: And what about that gang member with previous murder convictions they deported twice and let in again twice? :frown: Or when Matti Barranovski was kicked and stomped to death for not giving up a smoke...his murderers will be out in one year.

Street gangs would be largely eradicated if the War on Drugs were ended.
