Hi. I am trying to decide which LCD monitor will replace my old CRT, and I think this is the time. After a lot of research I decided for the L226WTQ-BF which I can get at a local store. But then I've read about the LG L227WT is the replacement with a 100% color gamut. But in order to compare, I would like to know what is then the color gamut of the L226WTQ-BF. I've been searching all day for this info, and it is not stated on reviews, or specifications. If anyone would let me know would be great. Thanks in advanced.

The L226WT series use standard gamut, ~72% NTSC CCFLs. (This is assumed because WCG-wide color gamut is not advertised, but I am quite certain of this fact to begin with.) The L227WT series use a wide gamut backlight covering ~97% NTSC.

I don't see an advantage to getting the L226. The L227 is reputed to have less input lag, possibly better response (L226WTQ series had some issues in the past) and of course more vibrant colors due to the backlight. I believe it also has more resolution/aspect scaling options than the L226.

Thanks so much for your response. Hope this also help other with similar doubts. I am still using my 2000 Acer crt monitor since I was waiting for a decent LCD, since I do a lot of photo and video editing, and wanted more accurate colors, so If I waited this long, I rather get the L227. Thanks again.
