gamma correction-pain in the ......

I go in and set my gamma so that it is bright enough for me to see whats going on, on my monitor. I save the setting. The next time I reboot, its so dark I can hardly see anything. Why wont it save this setting?

I am using a Viper Z200 with windows xp pro
