Seems like some of those incompatibilities aren't even a real problem.
For Diablo 2 it says it works if you crack the game; the cd check is the issue and the crack goes around that.
For Oblivion it says it won't install from a CD image due to copyright protection... is that really a Windows problem or is that an Oblivion/Alcohol problem?
Many of the problems are "installer is 16-bit" but also have a note saying you can copy the game files from another computer.
Fear's expansion pack works fine with a no-cd crack.
So far the only game I've had problems with in Vista is Red Alert 2. It needs Win98 emulation so it only uses 1 processor, and it needs to run in windowed mode or else it causes blackscreen (which might actually be a video card problem, 8800GTX). GTA Vice City was also being a bitch with dual processors, but it works fine in Win98 emulation.
Seems like Win98 emulation fixes a lot of problems.
