Gaming & Windows XP x64

I haven't given XP x64 much of a try, but I'm wondering how game compatibility is compared to XP x86? Is there much of a difference, if at all, between the two?

Here are my performance benchmarks between XP 32 and XP 64. Note that I only tried it with 2 games and a synthetic benchmark. The 64-bit version of Half-Life 2 (CS:Source actually) was used on the 64-bit system, so it was not very fair in that benchmark.

After running both, there really isn't much of a difference at all. What you might notice is the lack of drivers for XP x64 or some software that won't run. Just make sure your hardware has XP x64 drivers but beyond that you shouldn't notice a difference.

Keep in mind that x86 is still the platform that drivers are written to. For Vista, this is a non-issue since both x64 and x86 drivers are released at the same time. For XP x64, the x64 might be older than the latest x86.
