I have k6-2 350, the motherboard supports (sort of) up to 550, but not the cxt/ctx core (whatevah, just 10% speed loss). I have 3 slots, 1 pci and 2 isa (one is shared with the pci). Right now I have a 3c905b-tx (10/100) in the PCI and a hardware modem in the isa.
I've got a deal in limbo for a 3com isa (10mbps) card. Should I:
a) spend 10 bucks on the cheap nic
b) spend 30 bucks on an 10/100 nic
c) buy a 500mhz processor ($60)
d) buy a pci videocard (v3??) I think there's a conflict with riva cards so....
e) Give IBM some props for setting me up with a sweet mobo and the software tied to it
I never get above 1 megaBYTE per second, EVER, so I only need a 10mbps, right? I'll still be able to get good pings in CS, right?
Thanks!
