gaming systems review?

So a buddy of mine has elected to go the alienware route as opposed to learning to build his own system, and I was trying to tell him that there are several companies making superior pre-built gaming machines. I remember seeing an article a few weeks back (I think on anandtech) that was comparing machines from a bunch of companies, but I cant find that article at all now. Google isn't helping...

Does anyone know what I'm talking about, or can they provide a link to it?

both of those site's advertised systems price are jacked up because of the artwork and custom paintjob added, alienware is just plain overpriced for no specific reason.

There are a number of site that will build the PCs for you and give you a wide rang of options try powerpc.com

I think both on hardocp.com and tomshardware.com reviewed a couple of prebuilts recently.

Anything from ABS, Falcon Northwest or Even a Dell XPS should do fine. Just stay away from Alienware.
