Hey guys, I bought the logitech's z5500 and the creative s750. Bottom line, I am going to keep the s-750.
Let me give this review PURELY as a gaming speakers. Personaly, I think anyone who buys computer speakers for a movie or music is INSANE!!! There are home theaters for that and they will all blow away any computer speakers. To hear people complain about the music capabilities of the s-750, z5500, or pro media ultras is just stupid. To compare these 3 speakers (which are probaly the best computer speakers around) for music or movie purposes is like debating which POS is better? I do not mean to sound like a snob or something but what I am saying is true.
With that being said, if you are looking for a gaming speaker, you are looking for 3 things. 1) Quality of the sound 2) abilty to locate enemy by sound 3)bass.
Personally, for gaming, I do not care for 3 too much so I was more concerned with 1 and 2.
The bottom line, is the the s750's extra 2 channels really enabled you to pinpoint enemy gunfire or locations, which to me, is essential.
The z5500 sounded fairly close to the s750 sound wise but we are talking computer speakers so who really cares?
For those that care, the z5500 sub sounded much tighter to me than the s750 but the s750 was no pushover.
So if you are looking for a gaming speaker, the choice is CLEARLY the s750. Hope this helps those who are shopping for a gaming speakers.
Also, please remember that sound is subjective. What sounds great to someone may sound like SH*T to someone else. Just because you love your pro media's doesn't mean everyone else will. To me, the martin logins (or any electrostatic speaker) sounds superior to any other speaker around. I know others would disagree but thats fine. Buy what you like and be happy.
Sorry about bashing these three great computer speakers but I'm just so tired of hearing everyone compare how these all play music and movies. Its like braggin how fast your ford focus or geo metro is. It is just plain stupid.
Home theater for music/movies. Computer speakers for gaming. Sure computer speakers can play music and movies but it is not great. Regardless, from what I have found, the s750 is expensive but probally the best gaming speakers around.
If you are curious, my home theater contains martin logans, krell kav1500, meridian 596, pioneer elite dv 45a, and earthquake sub.
