You've spec'd out a nice system, except I don't think the GTX280 is worth the dough, especially with the release of the 4870X2 just a couple weeks away. The 4870X2 crushes the GTX280 - in fact, it's faster than TWO GTX 280's in SLI in many cases.

If you really can't wait for the 4870X2, I'd suggest you just get one 4870X2 and change your mobo to an X38 or X48 chipset. Most likely, a single 4870 will keep you happy, but if not you can buy another one and crossfire it in the X38/X48 board and it'll be just as fast as an X2.

Otherwise, looks good. If I wanted to nitpick, I'd tell you this is better RAM than what you chose:

and that one of these two hard drives will be a tiny bit faster:

If you're buying that power supply expecting it to be silent you'll probably be disappointed. It uses an 80mm, making it louder than it necessarily needs to be. If silence is really what you're after you're better off looking at something with a 120mm fan like the Corsair 620HX. If that's not a big deal to you, then it's a great price on a quality 600W power supply.

Get WD 640GB drives instead with denser platters for faster reads.

I second the advice to stay away from PP&C if you want a quiet PSU. They're noisier than other good brands like Seasonic.

The 4870x2 should be a better deal than the GTX 280, and if nothing else it may force nvidia to cut prices again :)
